Work in Progress: MNS Badge MII

I’ve wanted to design a logo/badge for MNS for some time now and this week I found some time. It’s been pretty difficult to come up with an image that encompasses what MNS is about and in all honesty a crest doesn’t necessarily fit with the turn up, mix-up and play scenario. Perhaps if we were a bona fide team I could justify a proper badge but then again when has a small detail like that ever stopped me wasting countless hours on some fantasy pursuit?

The first version (above with variants below) is more akin to the over designed and sleek crests of American sports teams.

The central element
is the blue and yellow light rays which aim to symbolise both the night/floodlit aspect of our game and the opposing colours of the teams.

The Pig-Latin element
“Vivat Lunae” either means Long Live Mondays or Long Live the Moon; both worthy causes.

The Star,
well everyone has a star these days.  I guess we all need to feel special sometimes.

The ball
is self explanatory and turns up on a high percentage of football badges.  The 20’s look ball is to add a bit of much needed gravitas.

Criticisms

It all looks quite Russian, you could easily substitute MNS for CCCP and you wouldn’t blink.
